Run the installation wizard. Once it asks you if you want to install DirectX; click on “No, I will install DirectX myself.” (It’s also good to always have the latest version already installed on your system.) Then let the wizard install the game. When it finishes installing, uncheck the “Play the game now” box. Locate the Nancy icon on your desktop and right click on it. The game properties menu will show up. Click on the “Compatibility” tab and check the box next to “Run this program in compatibility mode for:” and then choose Windows 95 from the drop down menu. You may also want to check each box next to the display settings. Once you are finished. Click on the apply button and then click okay. Double click on the Nancy icon and play the game.
If you are still having a problem with the game loading. Repeat the above compatiblity process and then try again.
Note: This is only if the game opens and then closes. This does not include problems such as the .ini file not found problem.

Yes, it’s possible! But in order to do so you must have an Intel-based Mac. There is a program called Boot Camp
that lets you install Microsoft Windows XP. Once installed, you can switch between Windows XP and Mac OS X. However, Boot Camp
currently is a public Beta - meaning all the bugs haven’t been worked out.
If you are interested in trying it out, follow the instructions found on the Apple website. Since, I do not own a Mac myself; I cannot guide you through the process or help you with questions you may have. See the links below for more information.

+ You have a list of all the songs from the games. Why don’t you add them so people can download them?
I’m sorry, but I cannot do that. If I distributed the music for free on this site it would be considered breaking the law. This is called pirating and it would mean that I could get sued for distributing the music freely. Therefore, I will not be adding any MP3s (or other formats) for you to download. I have much respect for Kevin Manthei’s work and will not distribute his hard work in such a manner.
Just to clarify: The songs found in the iNancy are the songs Kevin and his associates have up for download on their own websites. Except for the SCK songs, which are from the Her Interactive website.

Yes, it’s true. You can purchase the soundtracks and download the songs from the digital store found at this link: http://digitalstore.herinteractive.com/soundtracks/.

I do all of my coding in the simple Windows application called Notepad and then input it into the Wordpress entry field. For all of my graphics I use Adobe Photoshop 7. (Never had a reason to upgrade to CS.) I use WS_FTP LE to upload other pages, graphics, and downloads that I don’t upload through the Wordpress script. (Yes, WS_FTP LE is a very old program, but it works and I like the interface. I’ve never been a fan of CuteFTP.)
I started making websites at the age of eleven and haven’t stopped since. I’ve mostly learned my tools of the trade by reading tutorials found all over the internet. Other than that I’ve never taken a class or read an actual book about it. Online tutorials have gotten me this far and I think they’ve done a pretty good job.
As for graphics, when I first started working on sites. I used graphic programs such as Fauve Matisse, Micrografx, and even Paint Shop Pro 3. By the time, Photoshop 7 came out I was ready to switch over to that program. I learned how to use it by tutorials found on various websites. Although, fiddling with the effects is the best teacher, in my opinion.
Unfortunately, I do not have the time to help others with their sites. If you would like to learn more about html there are literally thousands of websites with tutorials. Searching Google for ‘html tutorials’ or even ‘graphic tutorials’ will give you an endless amount of knowledge.

I opened the game and clicked on the button PrtScn (located next to the Scroll Lock button). Then I went over to Photoshop and clicked CTRL V to paste the screen cap into a new layer. Pretty simple.
If you don’t have Photoshop, you can also paste the image in PSP or even the Windows Paint Program.
My name’s Holly, and I’m a 24-year-old girl (born in 1984). I’m a big fan of the Nancy Drew games and have become a fan of Nancy in general since I played my first interactive mystery, which was Message In a Haunted Mansion. Since then I’ve become sort of obsessed with the games and have played each one at least a half a dozen times. If you’d like to know more about me, have a look at the about me section. No, I don’t really look like that in the photo.
Basically a fanlisting is a website that has a list of fans of a certain subject. It does not cost anything to join. All you have to do is be a fan of the subject and at least have a valid email address. That’s it!
You can read more about the subject at the TFL: 101 Guide.
